  Bringing Her Home

On September 6, 2002, Jennifer had her interview at the American Embassy in Manila, Philippines. After the struggle she had had at the CFO a week earlier, the interview was a piece of cake. She was approved with only a very few questions being asked, then she went home to await the delivery of her visa. It came less than a week later.

So on October 11, 2002, I left for my return trip to the Philippines to bring Jennifer home to Florida. Everything went smoothly until I got to San Francisco and sat down to wait for the 11:30PM flight I was ticketed for on Philippine Airlines. The only problem being, there was no 11:30PM flight!

It seems someone forgot to contact me and let me know that the later flight had been scrubbed from their nightly schedule because of the low season. And when I had called to confirm my flight the day before, they had confirmed me alright! On the 10:15PM flight that was just leaving the ground as I found out about it.

So I was gong to spend the night in San Francisco...

Philippine Airlines put me up for the night at the Ramada Inn. After the stress of finding out I had sat right across from the ticket counter and let my flight get away, all the while thinking I had plenty of time on my hands, I had no trouble sleeping like a brick that night.

I spent the whole next day at the airport, and I did not miss another flight that night, hehehe.

Finally, that night I was off to bring my sweetheart home.
