When we headed for home, Paquito picked up a Muslim friend along the
highway to give him a ride. So we ended up taking a detour from the
main highway. This Air Force base was along that road. |

And then so was
this cart, being pulled along by a carabao. This sight was nothing
new
to anyone else in the Jeepney with me. But I had only ever seen such
things in magazines and textbooks. Now, here I was taking my own
picture of it! Very cool. |

Just ahead we
were sharing the road with the local traffic. |

They were very
polite and pulled over to allow us to pass without incident. People
back home in Florida could learn a thing or two about road courtesy from
these guys! |

And finally we
arrived at the village to which we were taking Paquito's friend. |
