| Without even planning it, I managed to be in the country on the Philippine Independence Day, June 12th. Paquito came over early and got us all out to the military parade for the celebration. | ||
 |

| I stood on top of the Jeepney and watched as group after group of celebrants passed by. | ||
 |

| And I think almost all of them noticed I had a camera! | ||
 |

| As a reminder of the fact that General Santos City has had some troubles recently, there was an armored vehicle posted right across the street from us for the duration of the parade. | ||
