2002 - It's A Wrap

  Around the Provido Home

And finally I remembered that I was going to need some pictures from around the family compound!  This is Jennifer's family's front yard.  (I don't think great grandmother was aware that she was going to be in this picture. :-)

In the week and a half that I was there, I never ventured to the back of the compound.  You have now seen as much back there as I ever did!

Jen's grandmother on her father's side still lives in the house right behind them.  It looks like a very nice home, but for some reason I never did get over there to visit or to see it.  Matter of fact, taking these three pictures has taken me away from my Jennifer's side for the longest period since my arrival in Manila!!!

Little Percy, sitting atop the chair on the left, was continually talking to me.  I still don't know if he understands that I could not understand.  Uncle Romi is holding baby Maxine, who is no doubt very spoiled by all the attention she gets as the only baby in the compound :-)

Hehehe, is this something I will have to get used to doing at my own home soon?  It was so funny to watch how everyone just walked out of their shoes at the door.  Still, even with all these precautions, someone had to make use of the walis tambo in the house several times a day!  Where does all that dirt and sand come from???

Fascinating insect control system!  This is the interior wall, just over the front door of the home.

If more than one person was already sitting at the outdoor dining table, Jennifer and I just had to make do with available space where we could find it.
