  DARBCI

Some of the people in DARBCI support themselves by raising goats to sell in the market.  I was told that an occasional taxi driver, or other down-on-his-luck worker, will cruise through and steal one or two of the goats and sell them to make up for the lack of funds from his own business.

This little guy lives in DARBCI.  He saw us walking around the area and decided to tag along, so I asked him if I could take his picture.  He was much more happy to do so than he appears!

These tough guys are not hanging out drinking Tanduay.  As it turns out, they are the light bearers for the prayer meeting.  They fill the bottles with kerosene and stuff a rag in the bottle neck.  The rag is lit, and then throughout the evening someone has to keep turning the bottle upside down to refuel the burning rag and keep the flame high enough to read by.

Roderick and Jennifer are ready for this meeting to commence!

No, she doesn't really play the guitar.  But she WAS entertaining!
