Jennifer and I hung around the hotel the rest of the day
on Monday while her mom went to the SM shopping mall alone. Here
is a picture of the street that runs in front of the Townhouse Hotel where we
stayed our three nights in Manila. That's the hotel on the left.
On Sunday night I had asked Jennifer's mom for permission
to marry her beautiful daughter. And after assuring me that she and
Jennifer, as well as the rest of the family, all believed that I was an
answer to their prayers for a God fearing lifetime partner for their
Jen-Jen, she had given me her permission AND her encouragement to commit
my lifetime to loving her daughter as my wife.
After that conversation we ate our dinner in their room. Later, as
Jennifer and I were wandering back through the hotel, I asked her to have
a seat in this chair outside my room. That's where I made my formal
proposal of marriage. The picture above was taken the next day so the memory of
it could be captured for the kids and grandkids to come!
Soon enough it was Tuesday morning, and time to head for
the airport and our trip to General Santos City. Jen's mom took this
picture of us as we waited for the owner of the hotel to come and drive us
to the airport.
As soon as we arrived at the airport, we were informed
that the flight to GenSan was going to be delayed... FOR THREE HOURS. Ah
Philippines, hehehe. But to look at the smiles on our faces, you would never have known
the plane was not right on time.
