After the Jerusalem Model we headed for The Scriptorium; the newest addition to the park. In this building you take a 55 minute tour of the history of the people and the methodologies that have been used throughout the centuries which have provided us with the Holy Bible that we use today. Actual artifacts - from cuneiform tablets, to papyrus and parchment scrolls, to carefully hand copied parchment leaves, to the hand printed Latin-to-English and later Hebrew & Greek-to-English translations, and right up through the mass produced German and English volumes printed on the earliest printing presses - the story is told of how men throughout the centuries have lived and died to preserve the integrity and availability of the Holy Scriptures to the people that would come after them. After the tour we took a few minutes on the patio outside the building to enjoy the beautiful afternoon, and to talk awhile about the miracle that is our modern day Holy Bible.
