Since I was in the process of getting the place ready for a brand new baby, I
decided not to put my workspace back in the same [dis]order it had been in before I
stripped all of the equipment down in preparation for the storm. This is what my desk
had looked like before everything went into the bathroom for the weekend
of Hurricane Frances. |

As soon as Wal-Mart reopened, I went and picked up a milk crate and came
home and got busy with the wiring. |

I eventually got my new APC power supply and all the excess wiring tied down
inside that crate on top of my desk. |

Since then I have also purchased an All-In-One copier/scanner/fax/color printer
which sits atop the crate with all the wiring inside. You know, it's funny, but
back then Jennifer told me that I didn't really have to worry about
"child-proofing" my space because it was going to be a long long time before the
baby was actually able to crawl around and get under my desk anyway. Well guess what? That's right! And
it doesn't seem like it took all that long at all. |
