A quick trip around the parking lot revealed nothing more serious than a few
broken branches here and there, and a blanket of little green leaves literally
covering the ground after being blown from all the trees in the area. |

That's our new Nissan with its nose sticking out from behind the black Cadillac
on the right. I moved it around to the end of our building when Jennifer told me
that I needed to get it out from under the tree that was right beside our
regular parking place out front. As you will see later, her intuition was right
on. That tree did not make it through the weekend! |

Just about every kind of palm leaf in South Florida is subject to convulsions
with every little gust of wind that kicks up down here. But this was the one and
only time I have ever seen them flayed out horizontally and staying there! The
wind rushing through these on the edge of our parking lot sounded like a
pounding surf continually rolling ashore. |
