| On the way home from
the Filipino store one Friday night, Jennifer spotted a traveling carnival
that had set up in the neighborhood. We went back the next night for
the grand experience. |
 |
| This picture was taken
just minutes before the guy in the blue shirt there at the balloons booth
"fleeced" us for forty bucks. When we got into the grounds, Jennifer
immediately wanted to play some of the carnival games and win one of the
big stuffed animals she saw people walking around with. While she
threw darts, the carnival hustler hustled and I paid him for each
successive round of darts... each getting us to "the next level" on the
winnings board. Finally, when I had given him $40, I told him we
were finished. Jennifer got the little Pooh bear you see in the next
picture. When I told her the total we had just paid for her to "win"
the toy she was almost sick. She wanted to leave immediately.
I could never have explained the carnival games in terms that would
have satisfied her. But the experience insures that I will never
have to "win" another stuffed toy for Jennifer, our kids, or our grandkids
if she has anything to say about it! |
 |
| After she settled down
from the balloon trap, we rode the rides until we were both sick to our
stomachs. Then we settled down into the bumper cars for something a
little more tame. No more Fire Ball loops, swinging ships or the
like for the rest of the evening, thank you! |

 |
| Even after the stomach churning rides, Jennifer
couldn't leave without a bag of the cotton candy. |
